ZLATOMAZ is nothing new. It used to be produced in starch factories, it was in the form of scales, and was also known as shoe grease or pop. It was not the most user-friendly, though – the scales had to be soaked in lukewarm water, which was then drained off, and the resulting honey-coloured mass was worked out by hand.
